Give every URL one role

Album

Photos and captions presented on Yupoo.

Catalog

A separate discovery entry or category directory.

Marketplace

A Taobao, Weidian, 1688 or other listing with its own context.

Order route

A separate service or checkout stage that may handle a transaction.

Fields worth keeping

  • Original URL and a plain-language page label.
  • Album title or exact item code needed to find the entry again.
  • Page role: album, catalog, marketplace, agent route or checkout.
  • Observed status: available, restricted, missing asset, redirected, changed or removed.
  • Date checked and the specific detail checked on that date.
  • New candidate URL kept separately until its identity is confirmed.
  • One sentence explaining what remains uncertain.

Add a new observation instead of erasing history

Example change note2026-08-06 — Album still opens. Item code remains visible. Previous marketplace source now returns an unavailable page. New source not confirmed. Keep for image reference only.

This note is more useful than changing the row to “updated,” because it preserves which part still works and which part failed.

What a last-checked date means

It means the named detail was observed on that date. It does not mean the page was continuously monitored, the item stayed available afterward or the external party confirmed anything.

Use a new date only when you actually revisit the relevant page and repeat the check.

Searching across several albums

Use stable public clues such as an exact code, category and distinctive caption words. Keep results from different albums in separate rows until their source and item identity align. Similar photos do not justify merging two records.

A short review routine

  1. Open the saved URLCheck the same page rather than starting from a new search result.
  2. Repeat the named checkIf the note was about price, source or access, verify that exact field.
  3. Add the new statusKeep the previous observation and append what changed.
  4. Choose the row's roleLeave it active, mark it unresolved or archive it with a reason.

When to archive a row

Archive rather than delete when the old URL explains a changed source or preserves useful provenance. Remove the row from an active shortlist when the page no longer provides the evidence needed for the current decision.
