Before opening the chat

Collect the public product URL, exact product code, selected color or size, intended quantity and destination context. Decide which five or six answers you need to compare. This prevents a long conversation from producing only an unexplained price.

A first message with enough context

Example openingHello. I am asking about product [code] from [public URL]. Variant: [color/size/model]. Planned quantity: [number]. Please confirm whether this item is available for quotation and which MOQ applies. I also need the unit price and currency for this quantity, included packing, and the current size/specification information.

Adapt the wording to the category. Avoid sending an album screenshot without the code or link that explains it.

Use a second message for evidence

After the item and quantity are confirmed, ask for the missing category evidence: measurements for clothing, internal length for shoes, dimensions and empty weight for bags, included parts for accessories, or exact model and compatibility for electronics.

Keep QC requests specific

Ask which views or measurements you need and whether the evidence can be tied to the quoted item or a future prepared unit. “Send QC” is vague; “show the measurement points, label area and closure for code AB-204, black, size M” can be answered.

Request a shipping estimate separately

State the destination used for the estimate and ask for packing configuration, weight basis, route, included services and validity date. Do not mix a product-only price with a delivered estimate in the same field.

Turn chat replies into a comparison record

  1. Capture the answerSave the message with date and contact context.
  2. Attach the itemKeep code, URL and variant beside the reply.
  3. Separate the numbersRecord product, packing and freight in different fields.
  4. Mark the gapsUnanswered questions remain open even if the conversation continues.

Protect privacy and transaction boundaries

Do not send passwords, payment credentials, identity documents or unnecessary personal information to obtain a basic quote. A WhatsApp reply does not create buyer protection. Confirm the responsible business, payment route, terms and dispute process separately.

Conversation warning signs

  • The contact cannot be tied to the public source.
  • The item code changes while the price stays unexplained.
  • Questions about MOQ, variant or packing are repeatedly avoided.
  • There is pressure to pay before basic details are confirmed.
  • The payee differs from the identified party without a clear reason.
  • Claims of authenticity, certification or delivery are unsupported.
